What is the FEDO Scheme?

FEDO is a two or three year full time course for 16-19 year olds who have a good footballing background and also value the importance of academic study.

The FEDO scheme is an opportunity for students to gain a recognised educational qualification and work towards achieving their football ambitions with the help of high quality coaching and an extensive opportunity to play in the East Berkshire College and Hayes & Yeading United FC youth teams.

The History Of The Course

The scheme commenced in 1997 and has attracted a wide interest from schools, professional clubs, local authorities, parents and ambitious young players who are keen to benefit from the expertise and excellent sporting facilities offered by East Berkshire College and Hayes & Yeading United FC. The scheme has been very successful with players progressing through to Hayes & Yeading United FC’s reserves and first team. In 2003, the college became English Schools & Colleges Under 19 National Champions and winners of the Premier Division of the Allied Counties Youth League. Several players who have completed the FEDO scheme at East Berkshire College have gone on to represent the county and English colleges.
